The Department of Genomic Medicine and the Parkville Familial Cancer Centre (FCC) is a large, highly specialised service with over 25 Genetic Counsellors supporting individuals and families with genetic diagnoses and familial cancer risk. The team delivers Adult Genetics specialty clinics, comprehensive FCC risk-assessment and risk-management services for metropolitan and regional patients, and works in close collaboration with Melbourne Genomics and VCCC partners to advance clinical care, research and education. The service includes a well-established Genetic Counsellor workforce and Intake team, with coordinated leadership, clinical supervision, service development and quality assurance activities embedded across the department.
