The GEP will launch a new webinar series to support nurses, midwives and health visitors to learn more about genomics and how it can help in practice.

The Genomics Education Program (GEP), in partnership with NHS England and NHS Improvement and the RCNi, are delivering a series of three introductory webinars exploring genomics, its growing use in healthcare and the opportunities it brings for nurses, midwives and health visitors.

The webinars are aimed at those with little to no existing knowledge of genomics and are free to join. Each episode is CPD-certified and will allow attendees to mark two hours of participatory continuing professional development (CPD) towards revalidation.

Three dates for your diary

Each webinar will feature contributions from a wide variety of professionals in practice, including introductions by chief nursing officer for England Ruth May, chief midwifery officer for England Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent and Health Education England chief nurse Mark Radford.

Join the #GenomicsConversation

This year, the GEP’s annual #GenomicsConversation week will take place from Monday 28 June to 2 July. Join us each day as we tackle one of the common issues with learning about genomics that emerged from the GEP genomics awareness survey last year. Free online activities will be made available throughout the week, tailored to reflect the daily theme. We will also be launching several new podcast interviews and showcasing a large range of introductory resources as part of our curated content schedule.
