• 22nd November 2019

The Genetic Counsellor Training Panel (GCTP) would like to invite new GCs to a study day at the North West Thames Regional Genetics Service in North West London on Friday 22nd November. There is no cost for the meeting. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

This meeting should provide an excellent opportunity to network with other new GCs and GC Trainees and discuss relevant issues. All genetic counsellors who have been working for less than three years are welcome, as are STP trainees in their second and third years.

A full programme will follow shortly. Based on feedback from previous meetings we have scheduled the morning session to focus on:

  • GCRB registration
  • Alternative Genetic Counselling career paths. Speakers will include:
    • GCs who work for private companies
    • Specialist GCs working in mainstreamed settings
    • Research GCs
    • GCs who have experience working abroad

The afternoon session will offer an opportunity for new GCs to present a short (5 minute) case of their own.

To secure a place please contact Somya Ellis by email Somya.Ellis@mft.nhs.uk . Any queries about the day can be addressed to either Somya or Natalie Ellery Natalie.Ellery@nhs.net.
