Programme

Our core themes this year include: 

  • Mainstreaming and specialist Genetic Counsellors and Nurses
  • Patient support after a genetic diagnosis
  • GMSA transformational projects for Genetic Counsellors/Nurses
  • Psychiatric genetic counselling 
  • Innovation in treatments for genetic conditions.  

Confirmed keynote speakers include:

  • Professor Karen Temple (Professor of Medical Genetics, University of Southampton and Honorary Consultant in Clinical Genetics, University Hospital Southampton) who will be talking about her experience of leading the European Network Clinic for patients with Disorders of Genomic Imprinting, based in Southampton
  • Professor Jehannine Austin (Genetic Counsellor and Professor, Department of Medical Genetics, University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada) who will be talking about her experience of establishing psychiatric genetic counselling and her ongoing research into this area.
