Listed below are short courses and modules to help individuals gain knowledge in clinical and medical genetics.  Degree programs other than the MSc in Genetic Counselling are also listed. 

   

   

Individual MSc modules - Cardiff

   

We are now able to offer individual modules from the Master’s course in genetic counselling to part-time students. The aim is to enable students who are currently working in the field of clinical genetics or genetic counselling to access education related directly to their professional practice

   

Modules available are:

 
  • Counselling and communication skills (modules I and II)
  • Topics in genetic counselling – Modules I and II
  • Molecular, cytogenetics and general genetics (semester one)
  • Quantitative, evolutionary and developmental genetics (semester two)
  • Introduction to research methods and social science
  • Genetics of disease (semester 2)
  • Ethical, legal and social issues in genetics
  • Education and Communication
 

Each module is taught on either Thursday or Friday over one semester of 15 weeks (12 taught).
 

A fee of £256.00 per 5 credit module and £513.00 per 10 credit module will be charged.
Fees are changing so that the cost is the same proportionately to the whole course.
