Barbara Carmichael Memorial Award     The AGNC committee has received funds in the form of donations from friends and colleagues of Barbara to help a member of the AGNC attend one of the conferences listed below. This award is being made in memory of Barbara Carmichael, who sadly died recently and was very involved in the Fragile X Society. The award is intended to cover the cost of the conference fee and will also help towards travel costs.     Conference dates:       - Scottish conference in Stirling Saturday April 29th       - AGM and family conference in Birmingham - Saturday June 17th       - Family conference in Birmingham - Saturday November 4th       - Irish Family conference in Belfast - Saturday 11th November     How to apply for the award:     Please apply on your own behalf to the Chair of the AGNC committee, Mandy Barry, stating why you wish to attend and how it is relevant to your own practice. It is a condition of acceptance of this award that the successful applicant will write a reflective article for the AGNC section of the BSHG newsletter.     Memorial fund   A group of Barbara's friends have donated a sum of money to set up a memorial fund which they have asked the committee to administer. This is a separate fund to the above, which is a 'one-off' award.     Details of the fund have yet to be finalised, so watch this space!
